Quran versus about Backbiting (Gheebah)

“O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, for some suspicions are a sin. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would abhor it, [so similarly, avoid backbiting]. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Qur’an, [49:12]

“And do not follow that of which you do not have knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – [you] will be asked about all of those.” Qur’an, [17:36]

“He does not utter a [single] word, except that there is, with him, [an angel] ready and waiting [to record it].” Qur’an, [50:18]

When you say Allahu Akbar, Subhan Allah, Al hamdulillah, La ilaha ila Allah, you are glorifying your Lord.

“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you.” Quran(2:152)
“And remember Allah much, that you may be successful.” Quran(62:10)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “The uttering of the words: “Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from imperfection), Al-hamdu lillah (all praise is due to Allah), La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah) and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)’ is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises.”Muslim

There is a hadith which say:  “Whoever glorifies Allaah (says Subhaan Allaah) thirty-three times immediately after each prayer, and praises Allaah (says Al-hamdu Lillaah) thirty-three times, and magnifies Allaah (says Allaahu akbar) thirty-three times, this makes ninety-nine, then to complete one hundred says Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except Allaah Alone, with no partner, His is the power and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things) – his sins will be forgiven even if they are like the foam of the sea.” (Reported by Muslim, 939).

The rewards of reciting the Quran are many.

An authentic hadith in At-Tirmithee states:  Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said

Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2910; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 2327

In another hadeeth, ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, relates that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:

“Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.”

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Hadiths(few) about Surah Al Kahf

Abu Darda’ reported Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying:

“If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surat Al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal.“

-Sahih muslim Book 004, Hadith 1766

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri reports that the Prophet SAW said:

“Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Jumu’ah will have a light that will shine from one Jumu’ah to the next.“

-an-Nasa’i, al-Baihaqi, and al-Hakim

From Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri, who said:

“Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).“

-Al-Daarimi, 3407. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 6471

From Surat Al-Muzzammil 73:2 (سورة المزمل)

Quran_Surah_73_2Translation by Hilali & Khan:

Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.

From Surat Al-Muzzammil 73:20 (سورة المزمل)

Quran_Surah_73_20Translation by Hilali & Khan:

Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand (to pray at night) a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so do a party of those with you, And Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you (in mercy). So, recite you of the Quran as much as may be easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah’s Bounty; yet others fighting in Allah’s Cause. So recite as much of the Quran as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, and whatever good you send before you for yourselves, (i.e. Nawafil non-obligatory acts of worship: prayers, charity, fasting, Hajj and ‘Umrah, etc.), you will certainly find it with Allah, better and greater in reward. And seek Forgiveness of Allah. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

From Surat Adh-Dhāriyāt 51:17 (سورة الذاريات)

Quran_Surah_51_17Translation by Hilali & Khan:

They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope].

From Surat Az-Zumar 39:9 (سورة الزمر)

Quran_Surah_39_9Translation by Hilali & Khan:

Is one who is obedient to Allah, prostrating himself or standing (in prayer) during the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord (like one who disbelieves)? Say: “Are those who know equal to those who know not?” It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. get a lesson from Allah’s Signs and Verses).

From Surat Al-‘Aĥzāb 33:35 (سورة الأحزاب)

Quran_Surah_33_35Translation by Hilali & Khan:

Verily, the Muslims (those who submit to Allah in Islam) men and women, the believers men and women (who believe in Islamic Monotheism), the men and the women who are obedient (to Allah), the men and women who are truthful (in their speech and deeds), the men and the women who are patient (in performing all the duties which Allah has ordered and in abstaining from all that Allah has forbidden), the men and the women who are humble (before their Lord Allah), the men and the women who give Sadaqat (i.e. Zakat, and alms, etc.), the men and the women who observe Saum (fast) (the obligatory fasting during the month of Ramadan, and the optional Nawafil fasting), the men and the women who guard their chastity (from illegal sexual acts) and the men and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues (while sitting, standing, lying, etc. for more than 300 times extra over the remembrance of Allah during the five compulsory congregational prayers) or praying extra additional Nawafil prayers of night in the last part of night, etc.) Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise).

From Surat ‘Āli `Imrān 3:17 (سورة آل عمران)Quran_Surah_3_17

Translation by Hilali & Khan:

(They are) those who are patient ones, those who are true (in Faith, words, and deeds), and obedient with sincere devotion in worship to Allah. Those who spend [give the Zakat and alms in the Way of Allah] and those who pray and beg Allah’s Pardon in the last hours of the night.

From Surat Al-‘Isrā’ 17:79 (سورة الإسراء)Quran_Surah_17_79

Translation by Hilali & Khan:

And in some parts of the night (also) offer the Salat (prayer) with it (i.e. recite the Quran in the prayer), as an additional prayer (Tahajjud optional prayer Nawafil) for you (O Muhammad SAW). It may be that your Lord will raise you to Maqaman Mahmuda (a station of praise and glory, i.e. the highest degree in Paradise!).

My Lord! grant me authority and join me with the righteous.; 26:83

And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 26:84

And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 26:85

And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 26:86

And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 26:87

The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 26:88

Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 26:89
